About

They Always Score is an independent Manchester United news and opinion site, run by a lifelong United supporter.

The connection goes back decades. In 1987, at the age of 12, the site’s founder attended the Bobby Charlton Soccer School. Manchester United has been part of life ever since.

They Always Score covers the stories that matter around United — from first-team news and transfers to the decisions being made behind the scenes at Old Trafford.

The aim is straightforward: keep United supporters informed without turning every development into outrage, clickbait or transfer speculation presented as fact.

What We Cover

Our coverage is built around four areas:

News — the latest developments involving Manchester United, the squad, management and club.

Transfers — reported moves, negotiations and developments affecting United’s squad.

Opinion — analysis and discussion of the issues surrounding the club.

History — the matches, players, moments and stories that made Manchester United what it is.

Why “They Always Score”?

The name comes from one of the most famous pieces of commentary in Manchester United history.

With United trailing Bayern Munich as the 1999 Champions League final entered stoppage time, Clive Tyldesley asked:

“Can Manchester United score? They always score.”

United scored twice.

The rest is history.

Independent and Unofficial

They Always Score is an independent publication. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to Manchester United Football Club, the Premier League or their associated companies.
